Finding a Lender

Mortgages can be issued direct from a mortgage lender, bank, or building society. Another alternative may be to use a specialist mortgage broker. To begin with, it may be useful to speak with your current bank and/or building society to see what deals they currently have on offer. This can sometimes work in your favour as your personal details and banking history are already available.

Also, as mentioned above, if you are buying a property via an estate agent, they may well have their own independent mortgage advisors who will be able to assist you further.

Alternatively, you may wish to use the Internet as a resource for finding your mortgage. Currently, there are many major companies advertising online who are promoting their products and services in this business sector.

If you do not have access to the Internet, simply shop around the different banks and building societies in your area where you will find more information about mortgages and what is available.
